This Filipino Martial Arts seminar will focus on defending against knife attacks. Knives can and frequently do kill or cause serious injury. For instance, on 10th April this year a man was sentenced to four years in jail for using two knives to attack a police officer in Caerleon.
Offences involving weapons especially knives are sadly on the rise and there are many instances in the national and local press which illustrate this point. Master Everton Smith has been studying martial arts for over 30 years.
He has travelled the world participating in European and World Championships as an individual and a team member, and has achieved European and World Individual and Team Champion status. Master Smith is a qualified anti-bullying coordinator who works with primary schools in Newport and surrounding areas delivering lessons, which help to build self-esteem and develop character.
